Croydon Ladies expected a tough game against league leaders Wanderers at Kennington Park, but in fact the open stages were very even.
Croydon paid for failing to convert their chances in front of goal when Wanderers showed sharpness to take a 2-0 half-time lead.
The visitors worked hard to reduce the deficit in the second half, with player-of-the-match Becky Forshaw working tirelessly on the left of midfield.
But after an error allowed Wanderers to score a third goal they ran away with it with two quality goals.
