Tesco and parking on the land adjacent to Montford Place

Please can this be circulated.

I am concerned both with the fact of Tesco offering car-parking during the cricket test on the waste land to the east of Montford place (via British parking ltd, who are charging for this privilege) and the manner in which this has been set up. There was no advance warning to residents, and this has followed on from the recent parking for the film crew for London Boulevard, which did cause a great deal of noise.

I have spoken to the customer services manager who tells me Tesco's solicitors claim they can allow public commercial parking for a limited period - in this case 3 days. Plans to use the land permanently for Tesco customer parking were rejected by the Council. This appears to be an attempt to set precedence.

Best regards
Mercia Gick
