The 159 escaped inclusion in the list of the 10 most complained about bus routes in the capital - which routes would be on your list?

THE bus routes causing people the most anger have been revealed by City Hall.

It details the 10 most complained about bus routes in London, including three serving South London.

The second most vexatious route is the C10 which links Canada Water to Victoria.

The single-decker travels through Rotherhithe, Bermondsey, Borough, Elephant & Castle and Kennington.

Since April, 98 passengers have complained to Transport for London about overcrowding and “poor performance” on the route.

Only the route 65 bus, which travels through west London, recorded more complaints.

Ian Smith, who lives in Kennington and takes the C10 to work in Victoria, said: “It’s a good bus when it arrives.

“But it’s too small so it gets really busy. You can’t rely on it.”

Val Shawcross, London Assembly member for Lambeth and Southwark, said: “Buses are more important to people in South London.

“It’s not good enough that we are putting up with a service that performs so badly.

“We feature so much on the complaints list because people are more reliant on the bus routes here.

“We have more problems of bus overcrowding.

"People are more likely to take a bus because they can’t get on the Tube or there isn’t an Underground near them.

“They need more money spending on them.”

The 188 route that travels from Greenwich to Russell Square via Rotherhithe, Bermondsey and Elephant & Castle was ranked fourth on the list.

This year, it registered 55 complaints from passengers.

Meanwhile, the 341 that travels between Waterloo station and County Hall was in seventh place notching up 48 complaints.

Despite repeated attempts to contact TfL, they were unable to comment before the story went to print.
