Wrong candidates' names on Lambeth ballot papers

Lambeth council confirmed a batch of ballot papers at The old Lilian Baylis School in Lollard Street Kennington polling station in Princes ward had been misprinted with names of candidates standing in Hackney, east London.
A spokesman said it was an "isolated incident" that had not been replicated elsewhere in the borough and the misprint did not affect General Election voting.
He said the error had been caused by external printers, which printed the name of the ward correctly but got the candidates' names wrong.
He said: "This was an isolated incident. “The problem was caused because of a misprint on a single batch of ballot papers sent to a polling station in Princes ward.
"The papers were delivered to the council from external printers with incorrect names on them.
"We have the names and addresses of 26 people who voted on these forms, and we will be visiting their homes to alert them so that they can recast their vote.
"If they are not in, we will put letters through their doors, and will return this evening to their homes.
“All the other voting paper’s have been rigorously checked to ensure there are no other misprinted papers."
