An Evening with Anthony Slide » The Cinema Museum, London

An Evening with Anthony Slide Thu 22nd Oct 19:30

Lillian Gish hailed Anthony Slide as “our pre-eminent historian of the silent
film,” and she is just one of the silent players whom he knew well and
of whom he will provide a rare personal glimpse. Listen as Betty Balfour
talks with her director, George Pearson, in old age and discover her
true voice; attend a garden party with the Valentino Memorial Guild;
view clips from “lost” British silent films; let Margery Wilson tell you
about her role as Brown Eyes in Intolerance; let Blanche Sweet
reminisce about her career; and much more. The evening will include
rare film clips, a Q&A and a book signing.
Doors open at 18.30 for a 19.30 start.
